Terms of Service

Last updated February 2026

These terms form an agreement between you and Lodestone Consulting Ltd ("Campus Beacon", "we", "us"), the provider of the Campus Beacon student safety and welfare platform. By creating an account or continuing to use the service, you agree to these terms.

1. Who you are contracting with

The service is provided by Lodestone Consulting Ltd, established in Ireland. If you accept these terms on behalf of a school or other organisation, you confirm you have authority to bind that organisation. If you are contracting as an individual, you confirm you are of legal age.

2. The service

Campus Beacon provides boarding schools with geofencing and location alerting, student check-in and check-out, roll call and attendance, scheduling registers, medication administration records, guardian access and reporting. Features available to you depend on your subscription plan.

Campus Beacon is an operational tool that supports your duty of care. It does not replace the professional judgement of your staff, emergency services or medical advice.

3. Accounts and acceptable use

You must provide accurate account information and keep it up to date, keep credentials confidential, and are responsible for activity under your account.

You must not:

  • use the service unlawfully or for fraud, spam or harassment;
  • infringe the intellectual property or privacy rights of others;
  • interfere with the security or integrity of the service, including malware, probing, penetration testing without consent, or automated scraping;
  • reverse engineer, resell, redistribute or circumvent the technical limits of the service;
  • monitor individuals outside of a lawful safeguarding purpose or without the notices and consents your jurisdiction requires.

4. Your data and licence

We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the service within your selected plan. You retain ownership of the student, staff and guardian records you enter. You grant us a limited licence to host and process that content solely to provide the service to you.

We retain ownership of the service, its software, documentation and branding, and all associated intellectual property.

5. Payment, subscriptions and taxes

Subscriptions are billed per boarding student seat, monthly or annually, and renew automatically until cancelled. Every plan begins with a 14-day free trial.

Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our orders. Paddle provides all customer service inquiries and handles returns. Billing, tax, cancellation and refund mechanics are set out in Paddle's Buyer Terms, and our own refund policy applies to change-of-mind requests.

6. Service levels and warranties

We work to keep Campus Beacon available and accurate, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free performance, and location and alerting depend on device, network and third-party signals outside our control. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all implied warranties, including merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose.

7. Suspension and termination

We may suspend or terminate access for material breach of these terms, non-payment, a security or fraud risk, or repeated or serious policy violations. You may cancel at any time. On termination you may export your data for 30 days, after which it is deleted or anonymised.

8. Liability

To the extent permitted by law, our aggregate liability is capped at the fees you paid in the 12 months before the claim, and we exclude indirect, consequential or special damages including loss of profits, data or goodwill. Nothing limits liability for fraud, death or personal injury where the law does not allow it.

You indemnify us against claims arising from your content, unlawful use of the service or breach of these terms.

9. General

These terms are governed by the laws of Ireland and its courts have exclusive jurisdiction. You may not assign this agreement without our consent; we may assign it in connection with a merger or acquisition. Neither party is liable for delays caused by events beyond reasonable control. We may update these terms and will notify you of material changes.
